Last week in Prague. Spent nearly the whole weekend on a pedal-boat. Lost my phone to the river. Class is over. All that remains is instant coffee and occasional blog updates from here on out.

There's a nice review of Fractured West #3 at PANK. Dawn West gives a nice little shout-out to my story "Family Vacation Island Love," and I learn the term meet-cute.

Also, engaging announcement at Mutable Sound, along with a free first chapter from Revelation's audiobook! Read by Ben Clark and Colin Winnette.

Jess Stoner, author of I Have Blinded Myself Writing This, wrote an incredibly thoughtful and engaging review of Revelation over at Necessary Fiction

Check it out here.

In honor of this review, I'm going to have a little sale. For the next two days, ending Thursday night at midnight, I'll be selling copies of Revelation for $9 (including S&H).

Send $9 via Paypal to cwinnette@gmail.com, include your address and a nice note, and I'll send you a book from Prague.

They serialize "Hummingbird"—a story about love, infestation, and ham-slapping—at FiveChapters!

Special thanks to David Daley!

FiveChapters is a rad site. I've been hunting around on there and there is so much good work by authors I love. Look for stories by Amelia Gray, Sam Lipsyte, Alex Ohlin, Jennifer Egan, Vendela Vida, Stephen Elliott, and Joyce Carol Oats, to name only a few.

This story is from Animal Collection, forthcoming from Spork Press in September. The countdown to this book has been really exciting. The stories are finding their way out into the world and I couldn't be happier for the reception they've received. Thanks to everyone! Can't wait to see the final version of the book itself.

While you're waiting, check out these other books by Spork. So fucking rad. As a place to start, I would highly recommend Zach Schomburg's From the Fjords. It's just really incredible.
